New Year
For our New Year's celebration, we got on a plane and headed to York to visit Simon, Angela, Della and Gus. We arrived early afternoon on New Year's eve, and somehow managed to stay awake past midnight (without the kids).
Pre-flight snack

Kids on a plane
Della was very excited to meet and hold her new cousin (as was everyone else)
Seems a long time since Xmas now. Here Bluet shows Della how to play Lotti Karotti, her favourite board game
2018 began with a trip to the park with scooters, balls and bikes
A pen was found, turning the park into a restaurant, and leaves into waiters pads for our food orders

And New Year's Day finished with a bath
And everyone went to bed in the same room

Last American Photos
I think we finally overcame jetlag last weekend, and all is more or less back to normal. Still, here are a few more of our holiday snaps - this is where we were over New Year - out canoeing on the Current River, as per the Corse family tradition
Meanwhile, the kids got to spend their New Year with Abatha, Scott, Nate and Lila. When we returned and told them we would have to fly back to Switzerland, they told us they would rather stay at Abatha's house forever.
Once we got back to St Louis from the river we took Bluet to her first ever 3D movie (Sing) - she was very excited when things started sticking out of the screen (and kept the 3D glasses to wear around the place).

Back in the Switzerland
Hello, Happy New Year!
We are back in Zurich - we arrived last Wednesday and are now almost over jet lag. When we got back there was snow everywhere, and since then it has provided a free adventure playground for entertaining the kids
Snowman built to Bluet's specifications (hat, scarf, carrot nose)

Old news/new news
How to catch up? So the end of our time in Missouri allowed Bluet and Ilona to catch up with their cousins. One day we went down the road next door to visit Thane, and Bluet and Ilona got to open more presents

I think that they got to open new presents every day (it seemed like it anyway), which was fun for them. Then Ilona brushed her teeth. And we headed to the Brunot farm once more. After entertaining the cows and children, I headed back to St Louis with Scott to visit record shops and play with lego, and then onwards to New York for three days catching up with the city.
Then Bluet and Ilona and Emily joined me and did Bluet see snow? Yes at the end of her holiday, Bluet did eventually get to see snow, and discover that making snowballs makes your hands cold

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////and then back to Zurich, where Bluet and Ilona now have a nanny (Alexandra) looking after them. She is from Slovakia but wants to speak German with them, so they are learning something. Bluet apparently even replied to a question in German, not that she will tell us she knows any German. It is going very well. Bluet even managed to bake us all some muffins
