CHRISTMAS PART I

Untitled

The first part of our Christmas Holiday (which too be honest was more tiring than going to work) was to pile into the car on the Friday before Christmas, and drive across Europe to visit Andrew and Maria in Slovakia. This drive would've been fine has we not encountered 3 hour long tail backs and some torrential rain - as a result we finally arrived in Bratislava at about 23:30. The next day we were all surprisingly awake, and managed to go eat some Slovak delicacies at the Christmas market. Ilona became rather taken with Andrew, asking to be carried by 'im or to sit with 'im at every opportunity.

The kids then got to make some Xmas cookies (See previous video) and angels

The most exciting thing at the Xmas market were some sheep

Ilona was also very excited when 'im gave her some 'bippers' (slippers) for Christmas, as until then she'd had to make do with adult ones...

Kindergarten

Untitled

Bluet loves her kindergarten. Yesterday Bluet's entire class came to visit our house (apparently this is a thing they do - every Wednesday (but postponed by one day because of rain), the teachers take all the kids to 4 different houses. So about 20 small children ran into the house, straight upstairs to Bluet and Ilona's room, back downstairs to eat all the cookies we had made, and about 10 minutes later they were queuing up outside to go onwards to the next house. Bluet was very excited about this visit, talking about it beforehand, helping make the cookies, and holding the basket of cookies to offer all the kids. Then she had to bring this toy duckling to the house, where it would stay overnight, then return to school today with tales of what it had seen. Of course, this meant Bluet had to sleep with it in her bed, and woke me up in the middle of the night when she couldn't find it. In the morning it watched breakfast and getting ready, then was strapped firmly to Bluet's bag for the trip to school.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve Eve

Untitled

Last night Bluet helped Dadn make some cookies by adding the M&Ms. She didn't even try and eat any (although she did discover the joy of licking the bowl, and of eating cookies you'd made yourself.

This morning, we all went for a stroll around the block, where Ilona slept and Bluet was fascinated by street furniture.

Now all are sleeping. As you can see, Ilona is getting bigger every day. Must be all the milk.

From earlier this week - Bluet watching festive TV wearing a cloak, as she requested.
