Wilder's First game

Yesterday, Wilder invented his first game. I think he could play it all day. Or at least until he needed to eat or sleep.

So sometime around the end of last month (not sure exactly when, the day pass so fast) Andrew and Maria came to hang out with/help out with the kids.






Then on the final day we went for a walk in the woods with Andrew

You might recall these baby straight jacket from when we used them to get Bluet to sleep. They work just as well on Wilder, especially at night

Erste Classe

It is the beginning of a new school year, and after 2 years in kindergarten with Frau Felliser, Bluet has moved up to Erste Classe. The new classroom is very close to kindergarten, but with a whole different playground, and some kids have moved with Bluet from Kindergarten to this new educational experience (including Tara (who speaks English) and Louis, who she walks to school with every day). So a nice mix of new and familiar. Anyway, we all walked there last Sunday to check it out.



Then on Monday it was the first day. Here is Bluet ready to go for the first time, and then Louis coming to pick her up for afternoon classes after lunch



NB this is our garden, not a jungle



And Bluet`s first piece of homework (ever) was to draw her house



So far it has been a great success, and Bluet already said she wishes she could be at school all the time

10th August

Yesterday was the 10th of August, which means that Wilder is a month old. A month of eating, sleeping and growing, including increased alertness and a gain of 2cm in length. Here he is yesterday

Hello again, we've been rather busy in the 4 weeks since Wilder was born - Veronika has been away for the last 3 weeks, so we had first Gran Helen, and then Andrew and Maria come and help with the big kids. So first, here are some of the things we got up to with Gran Helen


This is Wilder after his first bath. He wasn't that impressed. He has had several more since then, but I don't think his attitude has changed




This is the photo we used so Gran Helen could pick Ilona up from her Kinder Kripe, where she now goes 3 mornings a week



While Gran Helen was here we took the opportunity to go out for Lunch with some friends, and without Bluet and Ilona; as their kids also weren't there we were able to have adult conversations. i.e. Wilder's first visit to a restaurant



We also went to the zoo - the kids prefered the slide to the animals
