Wilder coffee update

Yesterday morning:
Me (to Wilder) ‘do you want some coffee’
Wilder ‘I don’t want to try it’
Me ‘why not?’
Wilder ‘Are you serious, Daddy?’

We think he’s picked this up from Ilona.

Flying visit

This weekend we had a quick visit from Abatha (or Abita as Wilder says), Lila (Nina as per Wilder) and Nate (still Nate). Wilder is still asking where they are every morning since they went home. We showed them what we could of our local surroundings including:

Friday lunchtime we all got to go to Ilona's classroom to hear her read her story about when she lost her first tooth.

We managed a walk outside at Putnam Park

And after German on Saturday morning, lunch at the Rye Ridge Deli in Stamford

New England Pumpkins

Last weekend we did maybe the most New England thing you can do and visited our local pumpkin patch to pick out our halloween pumpkins, then explored a corn maize. Even Wilder picked his own pumpkin. Pictures of the carving to come. NB it was quite messy

Coffee

Yesterday morning:

Wilder (to Emily): 'I don't drink coffee (buppy)'
Emily: 'Why? Because it's too hot?'
Wilder: 'No, Because it's gross'

And he's still shutting himself in cupboards

Not a performing monkey

I've been trying to get a video of Wilder talking but it's very difficult - he acts like we're paparazzi if he sees us filming him. Which is a shame as he says lots of very cute things. This is the best I have managed so far:

Also a bonus video of Wilder discovering bubblewrap yesterday

Wilder stuff

A few bits of Wilder. First because I played some hockey at school and University I've been doing coaching of the Redding and Easton Hockey middle school teams - Bluet and Ilona have also started playing in the beginners squad. This means Wilder quite often has to come along. Here he is getting his practice in.

Wilder's favourite jacket

Wilder likes 'catenpinars' - we were sent this picture of a catenpinar and had to print it out and stick it on his wall. He also likes to talk about the time he held one in his hand

'Hi Dadn, I go in dere'

This is just how we roll
