York (rain)

The first morning in York it was raining. Bravely we went to Rowntree Park and after lunch, it had cleared up enough to do some playing. Bluet helpfully used her dress to dry the slide for future users. (later on Friday the sun came out, but that is for another post)

Saturday morning it rained again, so off to the railway museum we went, as you do. Bluet was delighted to be allowed to carry an umbrella. At the museum the most fun thing to do seemed to be to go and sit in the seats on a train not dissimilar to the ones you can ride around Britain any day at any time.

After that, Della and Bluet then proceeded to run around holding hands, too fast to be captured in a non-blurry fashion on my camera.

As we waited for the bus home, the rain had stopped

And back home, a tired Bluet and a tired Della crashed on the sofa and watched Frozen.

Conversation/Umbrellas

This morning:

Bluet: "When I am an Owl, I will eat mice"

Me: "And fly?"

Bluet: "Yes, and have wings"

Me: "And Feathers?"

Bluet: "No, I will have Owl Hair"

On Sunday it was raining, which would usually be a bad thing, but Bluet loves her wellies and all umbrellas, so I took her to Willow Water Hole (where the Blue Bonnets are) to run about in the rain. It was very difficult to get her to leave, because she was dry because she had an umbrella on her head. Yesterday, Bluet wore her raincoat to school, and refused to take it off all day, even wearing it to sleep

Bluet's Big Bath, and other stories

Today Bluet was in the bath, the tap was running, and running, and running, until Bluet was in the deepest and best bhth she'd ever had.

Tomorrow we are off to New York City, so expect lots of photos as we revisit our favourite old haunts on what will surely feel like a trip home.
