Heavenly Bodies

Last week in the Ozarks, Bluet discovered the moon. Nothing would delight her more than to stand outside in the early evening and point at the moon. (she still does this out of our window here on the 15th floor in New York, and in any book that has a pic of the moon). She even remembered where she had seen it last, although this was not always helpful as it moves. We even saw the moon in the sky during the day. Oh, and she also learned to say 'sky' (moon, she did not utter). Nighttime photos are hard to come by, so here are some other Ozarkian pics.

Hello

To all the people who are missing their Bluet fix I apologise. We were very busy over thanksgiving and had no internets out there in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately there are plenty of photos of the festivities, which will be online shortly. In the meantime here are some pictures of Bluet at the St Louis Arch which we visited before we took my Dad back to the airport.

NB Bluet was not very interested in the museum at the Arch or the Old Court house, but the five minutes we were able to spend there looked v interesting

Airports

Sorry for the lack of blogs. We've been busy first in Houston and now we are off to Missouri for thanksgiving. Last week's trip was fine except for the very beginning, when the plane bluet and I were traveling on was delayed by three hours. I don't know if you've ever entertained an 18 month old at an airport for three hours, but it is tough, especially if the airport is as rubbish as laguardia. Fortunately bluet is growing up fast and was extremely well behaved. The airport kindly provided racks of application forms for credit cards at bluet height which she was happy to rearrange. She took them out and put them back in a new, abstract order. When we did get on the plane we both fell asleep for the majority of the 4 h flight.

We also discovered Houston has a fine zoo, and located a new house.

Back in New York it is cold, so Bluet wears then quickly removes her winters clothes. Stay tuned for thanksgiving photos.

Compare and Contrast

Here are two videos, one from last friday, and the other from approximately a year ago. Some progress, I think. (The one from Friday includes most of Bluet's words).

Post hurricane news

So the hurricane blew through our lives like a gentle sea breeze, and things were soon back to normal. Bluet even dressed up as a zebra for Halloween, and ate her first chocolate- we trick or treated a twix from the doorman. She enjoyed it very much.

In talking news, Bluet's word of the week was 'apple' which seems to apply to all non-banana shaped fruit. She said this a lot. Closely followed by 'juice' which means she wants a drink - often water and milk are 'juice'. And 'owl' as she loves her toy owl that she sleeps with, and saw many owls at the natural history museum this weekend. Also she can say 'okkar' (Oscar the Grouch) and 'cookie' (cookie monster) making at least 10% of her vocabulary muppet related.
