As the month turned to August we headed off for Missouri for what has become our summer holiday. This time we took 3 days in the way out in order to see some of the sights along the way; turns out the kids are not into looking at graveyards. We visited Antenitum, the site of a famous civil war battle in Maryland and some towns where Emily’s extended family have lived. We slept overnight in hotels rather than camped; this means the kids got to enjoy the swimming pools (for the first night) and be upset the pool was shut (the second night).
