Aberdeen Again

And then we were back in Aberdeen. Joined by Steve and Dorthea, Madeleine and Caroline we headed into Aberdeen. A very slow lunch at Frankie and Benny's was followed by a stroll down Aberdeen beach, which is much nicer than I remember. Note: glorious blue sky, wet children paddling in North Sea

Trip to Scotland: Bluet's Birthday

Today we returned from our trip to Scotland (incorporating Aberdeen and the Outer Hebrides). So, more details to come, but let us start with Bluet's Birthday 2017, which she got to celebrate with (in no particular order): Andrew, Maria, Wayne, Nana, Steve, Dorthea, Caroline, Madeleine, Uncle Nick and Gina at our lovely Hebridean rental home. Uncle Nick kindly made her a cake and decorated while we were out, whilst Andrew and Maria provided pizza (Bluet's choice of birthday meal, narrowly beating out spaghetti). Before the birthday meal we went into Stornoway and visited the museum inside Lews Castle. You can tell it was Bluet's birthday because she is wearing a birthday crown in most of the pictures

Cambridge II

Untitled

Then on Saturday the first of our visitors - Steve, Dorthea, Caroline and Madeleine drove up for the day from Wroughton, and we took the opportunity to recreate our student days. With kids. We strangely managed to go into the Fellow's garden at King's, which was perfect for the kids to run around as it was empty and spacious.

Summer visitors

When we came back from the US we had visitors the very next day - Steve, Dorthea, Caroline and Madeline arrived by train all the way from the Swindon area. This certainly distracted us from the jet lag (and was great fun). We did some wandering around Zurich, and the like, and lots of playing outside. We also fired up the BBQ, and enjoyed the end of summer weather (which is still here this week).
