back to the pirate playground

The weekend after Della, Gus, Simon and Angela left, Bluet needed a stapler. As we knew of a stationary shop near the house we stayed in when we first moved to Zurich, I decided to take Bluet there on the Saturday to buy one. We then stopped by the English language bookshop, and I showed Bluet where our house used to be (not surprisingly, she doesn't remember). However, she does remember the pirate playground next door, and there she happily played for an hour or so, as you can see. It's a great playground, but unfortunately it is about as far away from our house as it is possible to get in Zurich, so we don't go often.

More farewelling to New York

Before I forget what we actually did, here are the rest of the photos of Bluet and Emily's farewell tour from a couple of weekends back. So looking over the pictures to refresh the memory, it appears we took Bluet to the whole foods market bar for lunch on Saturday, then headed to Barnes and Noble, where Bluet ran around like a crazy person. Then on Sunday we went to Haru for sushi, where Bluet enjoyed the miso soup and the avocado (acou cacou) that we removed from the rolls for her. After that, a farewell trip to the ancient playground. Just about covers all our favourite New York locales.

Hot in the city

This weekend was a scorcher! I would estimate it was at least 40C, although not too humid. Whilst we were able to go outside, simply stepping out the door resulted in a fine layer of sweat coating the whole body. Nice.

Anyway, this afternoon Bluet and I went to the ancient playground. As you can see she enjoyed the shade of a tree. After 30 mins of this, with swear running down both our faces, we headed for the air conditioned confines of Barnes and Noble. After 40 minutes or so of chasing Bluet around and stopping her from picking up other peoples mobiles or rifling through their bags, we headed home via the air conditioned supermarket. It was exhausting. But no sooner were we home than we popped out again, to Jphn Jay playground for a final runabout of the weekend.
