Laterna

This weekend was the laterna fest at the German school - you may recognise the design of Bluet's lantern from the past which she chose to recreate for this year. We also had Emily's friend Ann visiting all the way from Alaska, and Wilder liked her very much - he asks in the morning where she has gone (now he says she's 'Gone 'ome')

We also went for a walk in our nearest woods

Just some regular kid things. Like playing with cards

Or Connect 4, which requires great concentration

I am not sure what is going on here

Lost tooth II/Wilder on the stairs

Bonus picture of Wilder on the stairs

Monday night while in the bath, Ilona lost/pulled out her second tooth, the one on the top

Bonus picture of Wilder on the stairs, just after he got up yesterday morning

Shortly after Ilona emerged with the $2 she'd found under her pillow from the 'tooth fairy'

Tiny Hannoween

This year Wilder has been really interested in seeing the halloween (hannoween, he can't say 'L'), and learning about sizes; for one particularly small outdoor hannoween ornament he told Emily it was Tiny Hannoween, which stuck. Fortunately he is too small to care about dressing up, unlike his sisters. This year for trick or treating Ilona was a witch and Bluet a masquerade. Bluet and Ilona went trick or treating with the Lyons' around Orchard Drive, and Wilder and I caught up with them for the last few houses.

Here we are carving our pumpkins a few days earlier (Wilder is delightedly throwing seeds and other pumpkin innards up in the air).

Wilder coffee update

Yesterday morning:
Me (to Wilder) ‘do you want some coffee’
Wilder ‘I don’t want to try it’
Me ‘why not?’
Wilder ‘Are you serious, Daddy?’

We think he’s picked this up from Ilona.

Flying visit

This weekend we had a quick visit from Abatha (or Abita as Wilder says), Lila (Nina as per Wilder) and Nate (still Nate). Wilder is still asking where they are every morning since they went home. We showed them what we could of our local surroundings including:

Friday lunchtime we all got to go to Ilona's classroom to hear her read her story about when she lost her first tooth.

We managed a walk outside at Putnam Park

And after German on Saturday morning, lunch at the Rye Ridge Deli in Stamford

New England Pumpkins

Last weekend we did maybe the most New England thing you can do and visited our local pumpkin patch to pick out our halloween pumpkins, then explored a corn maize. Even Wilder picked his own pumpkin. Pictures of the carving to come. NB it was quite messy
